Our prediction for this South Africa Premier League match:
Loftus Versfeld Stadium will host postponed fixture between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Mamelodi did well to eliminate Highlands Park in the South African Cup at the weekend, meaning that they are high on spirits ahead of Tuesday’s football match. Matlala Makgalwa, who scored the winner against Highlands Park, is widely expected to return to the starting XI for the hosts.
Orlando Pirtates, on the other hand, failed to find the net in the previous two league fixtures, with the team losing to Kaizer Chiefs (0-1), while sharing the spoils with Golden Arrows (0-0). Considering that Mamelodi Sundowns aim to melt Kaizer Chiefs’ advantage in the South African Premier Division table to only one point, we believe that they are going to pick up all three points from the postponed clash. The good news for the visitors is that midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu should recover in time to face the Kabo Yellow.
This game has been postponed.
Highlighted Team (Mamelodi Sundowns):
Mamelodi Sundowns are an African football club that was founded in the early 1960s. In 1970 Mamelodi Sundowns became an official club and they have won seven African Premier League titles since then. The Bafana baStyle play their home games at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria and the capacity of the venue is 51.762.
In 2016 the club won the CAF Champions League, with the team beating Zamalek of Egypt in the title game. Mamelodi recorded a 3-0 win over the Egyptian outfit in the first leg, but they were beaten by Moamen Soliman’s team (0-1) in the reverse fixture in Borg El Arab. As a result, the Bafana BaStyle booked their place at the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
Nonetheless, they failed to record a good result at the showpiece tournament as they were beaten by Kashima Antlers in the play-offs. It has to be noted that Bulgarian football star Hristo Stoichkov was in charge of the club from July 1, 2009 to March 17, 2010.
