Our prediction for this Sweden Allsvenskan match:
Sunday’s football game at Nya Ullevi pits together Goteborg and Eskilstuna, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2019 Allsvenskan campaign. Goteborg aim to stay in the race for the title, whilst Eskilstuna’s main goal is to secure yet another top flight survival. The Anglarna dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Falkenberg at the weekend and, no doubt, they are eager to return to winning ways in the Swedish elite division.
Goteborg defeated Sundsvall 2-1 in their last home game in the national championship, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of Sunday’s clash. Eskilstuna face an uphill task on Matchday 16 and given their poor away record, we do not believe that the relegation strugglers are capable of spoiling Goteborg’s party at Nya Ullevi. You should bear in mind, though, that Eskilstuna emerged triumphant in previous two meetings between the two teams in the Swedish elite division.
Highlighted Team (Goteborg):
IFK Goteborg are yet another successful Swedish club. The Anglarna won their 18th national championship in 2007, but that was their only trophy of the 21st century. IFK Goteborg clinched the UEFA Cup trophy on two occasions (1981/82 and 1986/87), with the team making it to the European Cup semis in both 1985/86 and 1992/1993 season.
Swedish striker Marcus Berg is one of the club’s most notable players. Berg played 53 games for the Anglarna, scoring 21 goals in the league for the club.
