Our match prediction:
Villarreal and Bayer Leverkusen take on each other at Camp El Madrigal in the Europa League last 16, first leg, in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining matches of Thursday’s program. The Yellow Submarine did remarkably well to upset Napoli in previous round and their confidence will be tested in the tie against the German outfit. Marcelino’s men suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to Las Palmas at the weekend, but it has to be noted that the Spanish tactician rested some of his first-team regulars for the Bayer Leverkusen game. Roger Schmidt’s men have been struggling to find their form of late and you should have in mind that they are on a four-game winless run in Bundesliga ahead of the trip to Spain. Bayer eliminated Sporting Lisbon in the last 32, but beating Villarreal at Camp El Madrigal is easier said than done. The Yellows have been impressive at the back this season and we predict that the two sides will play out a low-scoring draw in the first leg.
