Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Despite never lifting the Europa League trophy, Villarreal are the highest scoring side in the competition and they have been absolutely brilliant this season. The Yellow Submarine won each of their six home games in this year’s campaign, conceding just one goal in the process, with Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen among the teams to have left El Madrigal empty-handed. The Yellow Submarine have suffered a slight dip in form of late, failing to win any of their last three league fixtures, but they can be trusted to return to their best against Liverpool. The Reds are the only unbeaten side in this year’s competition, but their away record is far from impressive (W1 D5). Liverpool have played great football of late under Jurgen Klopp, but they have just squandered a two-goal lead against Newcastle United and with important defender Mamadou Sakho now out of the picture, they could find it hard to stop red-hot Cedric Bakambu on Thursday night.
