Our football match prediction:
Belgium are on the right track to book their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals. The Red Devils sit in top position in Group H ahead of Thursday’s football match against Gibraltar and they are four points clear of second-placed Greece. Former Everton coach Roberto Martinez is doing a good job with the Belgium national football team and a win over Gibraltar would see them move one step closer to securing qualification for the showpiece tournament in Russia. Napoli attacker Dries Mertens has been scoring goals for fun at the start of the season and we predict that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. Belgium hammered Gibraltar 6-0 at Estadio Do Algarve earlier in the process and given the quality of Roberto Martinez’s team, there is every chance the Red Devils will roll over the minnows once again. The Belgians recorded a 2-0 win over Estonia in their last qualifier.
Highligted Player (Jordan Lukaku):
Jordan Lukaku is well known for his older brother Romelu Lukaku, who plays for Everton as a striker. Jordan began his senior career at Anderlecht, but he made no more than eight league appearances for the club. The left-footed full-back played for fellow Belgian outfit Oostende from 2013 to 2016 and at the end of the 2015/2016 season he moved to Italy. Jordan Lukaku signed a deal with Italian club Lazio for a fee of £5 million (plus £1 million in bonuses). His main position is left-back, but he is capable of playing as a left midfielder as well. Speaking of his international career, Jordan Lukaku made his Belgium debut against Andorra on 10 October, 2015. However, he has yet to find the net for the Belgian national team. Jordan was born in Antwerp on 25 July, 1994. His father Roger Lukaku was a professional footballer as well and played for the Zaire national team.
Highlighted Team (Gibraltar):
Gibraltar played their first unofficial match against Jersey in the 1993 Island Games. The Gibraltarians suffered a 2-1 loss to Jersey, but they did well to hold Slovakia to a goalless draw in their first official international match. Gibraltar participated in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers and they were drawn in Group D alongside Germany, Poland, Georgia, Republic of Ireland and Scotland. They failed to impress on their debut in the World Cup qualifiers and it has to be noted that the minnows suffered a loss in each of their ten group games (goal difference 2:56). Gibraltar recorded their first ever win against Malta on April 6, 2014 and that is considered the team’s biggest success. Danny Higginbotham, who played for the likes of Manchester United, Southampton, Sunderland, Stoke City and Sheffield United during his professional career, has three caps for Gibraltar national football team and he is considered the greatest player who whore Gibraltar shirt. The Gibraltarians play their home games at Estadio Algarve, speaking of qualifying matches.
