Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Zaragoza and Almeria face each other at Estadio La Romareda in what is expected to be a close La Liga 2 encounter. Los Blanquillos have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating Mirandes and Fuenlabrada, while sharing the spoils with Logrones and Cartagena. Zaragoza are obviously eager to secure the Segunda Division survival, and we are positive that they will rely on their rock-solid defence against Almeria.
Los Rojiblancos, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano. Almeria are five points behind automatic promotion places, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s clash. Anyhow, share of spoils is on the cards as Zaragoza have been producing excellent displays in recent weeks. Almeria defender Ivanildo Fernandes misses the game through suspension as he was sent off in the defeat to Rayo.
Highlighted Player (James Igbekeme):
James Igbekeme is a Nigerian footballer who plays for Zaragoza in La Liga 2 as a winger. Igbekeme’s primary position is central midfield, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a left midfielder as well.
The Nigeria international started his senior career at Portuguese club Ribeirao, and after scoring two goals in 43 appearances for Os Ribeirenses, he moved to fellow Portuguese outfit Gil Vicente. In 2018 he decided to move to Spain, signing a four-year deal with Zaragoza. The 170-cm tall footballer made his Zaragoza debut on August 19, 2018 in a 2-1 win over Rayo Majadahonda.
He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 win at Real Oviedo on September 8, 2018. Igbekeme’s preferred foot is left, and his contract with los Blanquillos should expire on June 30, 2023. The Zaragoza midfielder born in Lagos on July 4, 1995 has yet to receive a call-up for the Nigeria national football team.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
