Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Francis-Le Ble will host Sunday’s football game between Brest and Rennes, the two teams who shared the spoils with Lyon and Lens respectively on Matchday 1. Brest were anything but impressive in pre-season, but they did well to hold les Gones to a draw at Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Even though all Cibois, Herelle, Lasne, and Said have been struggling with injuries at the start of the season, we predict that the hosts are going to grab something from the match.
Les Rouges et Noirs, on the other hand, failed to impress in the 1-1 draw with Lens. Since Rennes are not regarded as good travelers, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Pacey teenage attacker Jeremy Doku is pushing for a start, while all Gelin, Martin, and Truffert are likely to miss the game with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Ludovic Baal):
Ludovic Baal is a left-footed football player who was born on May 24, 1988. Baal was born in Paris, but he is a product of the Le Mans youth academy and it has to be noted that he made 12 appearances for the club in his first season with the MMArena outfit.
His main position is left-back, but he is capable of playing as a left midfielder as well. Considering that he is a French-born player, Ludovic Baal was illegible to play for both France and the French Guayana national team.
Baal decided to represent French Guayana on international stage and he made three appearances for the team in the group stages of the 2012 Caribbean Cup. He found the net in a 4-1 win over Anguilla, with Gary Pigree scoring a hat-trick for French Guayana. Ludovic Baal currently play for Rennes as a left-back and his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Rennes):
Stade Rennais Football Club or simply Rennes is a French football club which was founded on March 10, 1901. The club is one of the founding members of the French Ligue 1 and they are nicknamed Les Rouges et Noirs. Roazhon Park is the club’s home ground and the venue can hold 29.778 people. Rennes have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but they won Coupe de France title on two occasions (1964/1965, 1970/1971). Speaking of Coupe de la Ligue, les Rouges et Noirs made it to the final of the competition in the 2012/2013 season, but they were beaten by Saint Etienne (1-0) in the title game at Stade de France.
A number of top-class footballers played for Stade Rennais Football Club in the past and the likes of Sylvain Wiltord, Yoann Gourcuff, Yann M’Vila, Moussa Sow and Jimmy Briand are considered the club’s most notable players. Rennes footballers wear black and red jerseys when playing at home, while they wear white when playing on the travels.
