Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will host Sunday’s football game between Milan and Cagliari. The Rossoneri are on a quest to regain the Scudetto, but they will have to do it without important midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who joined Milan’s bitter local rivals Inter earlier this summer. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out of contention with injury, but influential midfielder Franck Kessie should be fit to face Cagliari.
In Ibrahimovic’s absence, summer signing Olivier Giroud is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts. The Sardinians, on the other hand, often struggle on the road, and we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing something from the match. Lykogiannis should recover in time to face the Rossoneri, while Rog remains in the recovery room with a knee injury. In their last meeting in Milano the two teams played out a goalless draw, but home win should be considered this time out.
Highlighted Player (Sandro Tonali):
After starting his youth career at Piacenza back in 2009, Sandro Tonali moved to Brescia three years later. The 181-cm-tall defender has been playing for le Rondinelle ever since and it has to be noted that he made his debut with the Stadio Mario Rigamonti outfit on August 26, 2017 in a 2-1 defeat to Avellino.
Sandro Tonali scored his first ever league goal for Brescia in a 4-2 loss to Salernitana on April 28, 2018. The talented midfielder, who was born in Lodi on May 8, 2000, represents Italy U21 team in international matches.
He made his debut with the Italy U21 national team on June 19, 2019 in a 1-0 defeat to Poland. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. Sandro’s preferred foot is right and his contract with Brescia should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Cagliari):
Cagliari are a professional football club based in Cagliari, Sardinia. I Rossoblu (The Red and Blues) compete in Italian Serie A and the club’s biggest success came in 1970, when they won the national championship.
Cagliari finished the season in top position in the standings, four points clear of Juventus and it has to be noted that Luigi Riva led Cagliari to their first Serie A trophy.
I Rossoblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Sant’Elia and the capacity of the stadium is 16,000. In the 1993/1994 season Cagliari made it to the UEFA Cup semis, with the team suffering a loss to fellow Italian club Inter in the two-legged tie.
Giuseppe Pancaro helped Cagliari record a 3-2 win over Inter in the first leg, but I Rossoblu were hammered by the Nerazzurri in the second leg (3-0). Palermo are regarded as Cagliari’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the Derby delle Isole.
