Our prediction for this Serie A match:
After suffering a 2-1 loss at Atalanta, Sassuolo will look to return to winning ways when they host Salernitana at their Mapei Stadium – Citta del Tricolore. The Neroverdi have yet to find their best form, but they will not have a better chance than this to put an end to their losing run. Midfielder Pedro Obiang remains on the sidelines through illness, but he should be the only absentee in the home team. Serbia international Filip Djuricic is widely expected to return to the starting XI.
The newcomers, on the other hand, picked up their first point of the season in midweek, with the team sharing the spoils with Verona at home ground. Salernitana, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and they are unlikely to spoil Sassuolo’s party at Stadium – Citta del Tricolore. In their last meeting in a competitive match, back in 2010, Sassuolo crushed Salernitana 4-1. All Aya, Capezzi, and Ruggeri miss out with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Francesco Magnanelli):
Francesco Magnanelli is a Sassuolo midfielder, who was born on 12 November, 1984. His main position is defensive midfield, but he plays as a central midfielder as well. Magnanelli began his senior career at Gubbio and he played for the club in lower leagues from 2000 to 2002.
He was part of Chievo during the 2002/2003 season, but he did not see any game action during his spelt with the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi outfit. The Italian footballer joined Fiorentina in 2003 and he moved to Sangiovannesse one year later. After making seven league appearances for the club, Francesco Magnanelli made probably the best decision of his career when he signed a contract with Sassuolo in June 2015.
He has been playing for the Neroverdi on regular basis and he scored one goal in 34 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign. His contract with Sassuolo expires on 30 June, 2017.
