Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
All eyes will be on Borussia-Park when Borussia M’gladbach and Borussia Dortmund face each other in the Bundesliga derby. Die Fohlen continue with their habit of performing well at home ground, while struggling on the travels. Borussia M’gladbach are eyeing their third consecutive win in front of home fans, but they face a difficult task in Saturday’s clash. All Jonas Hofmann, Ramy Bensebaini, Marcus Thuram, Stefan Lainer, and Mamadou Doucoure are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Signal Iduna Park outfit continue to rely on Erling Haland, who looks unstoppable in the German top flight. Borussia Dortmund have been in a much better form of late than Borussia M’gladbach, and seeing that die Fohlen suit Marco Rose’s troops, we are tempted to put our money on the visitors. Marco Rose has no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday’s derby.
Highlighted Player (Christoph Kramer):
Christoph Kramer is a German midfielder born in Solingen on 19 February 1991, and he is most famous for helping Germany lift the 2014 World Cup trophy. The defensive midfielder came to prominence after signing for Bayer Leverkusen, but it was the loan spells with VFL Bochum and Borussia M’gladbach that seriously aided his development.
Kramer received a surprise call up to Joachim Low’s World Cup squad, and he made a total of three appearances in Brazil, even starting the final against Argentina. The midfielder, however, suffered a concussion just after the half hour mark and he later confessed that he couldn’t remember anything from the most important game in his career.
Kramer remained a member of the Germany national team, making three appearances in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, and there is plenty of time for him to represent the country at another major tournament, playing a more important role than the one he had at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Highlighted Team (Borussia Dortmund):
1909 by eighteen footballers from Dortmund. Die Schwarzgelben (The Black and Yellows) play their home games at Signal Iduna Park, but the stadium’s original name is Westfalenstadion. The capacity of Borussia’s home ground is 81,539 and it has to be noted that the stadium was opened in 1974. BVB have the highest average attendance in the world of football.
Borussia Dortmund have won eight Bundesliga trophies, while clinching the German Cup title three times.
However, the club’s biggest success came in 1997 when they outplayed Juventus in the Champions League final. Karl-Heinz Riedle scored a brace for BVB in the 3-1 win over Juve, with Lars Ricken finding the net in the title game as well. Borussia’s biggest rivals are Schalke 04 and the two teams square off against each other in the Revierderby.
