Our prediction for this Championship match:
There will be fireworks when Cardiff City and Bournemouth go head to head at Cardiff City Stadium on Matchday 8. The Bluebirds have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating both Millwall and Nottingham, while losing to Bristol City and Coventry. Important midfielder Leandro Bacuna remains in the recovery room, as well as Joe Ralls, while Ryan Giles has been tested positive for coronavirus.
You should bear in mind that Cardiff are eyeing their second home win of the season. The Cherries, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Barnsley and QPR. Dominic Solanke has found his goal-scoring touch of late, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay. Bournemouth, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and that is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on draw. Both Junior Stanislas and Lewis Cook are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Sol Bamba):
Souleymane “Sol” Bamba is an Ivory Coast international who plays for Leeds United in the Championship. The defender spent five years in PSG youth school (1999-2004) and he made no more than one league appearance for the first team.
In July 2006 he signed for Scottish team Dunfermline and after spending two years at East End Park, he moved to fellow Scottish Premier League club Hibernian in 2008. Sol Bamba played as a centre back for the Hibs and he was producing brilliant performances with the Easter Road outfit.
The Ivory Coast defender used to play for the likes of Leicester City, Trabzonspor and Palermo in the past as well and on 24 June, 2015 he signed a permanent deal with Leeds United. Bamba made his Ivory Coast debut in 2008 in a friendly game against Israel. Over the years he has established himself as Ivory Coast first-team regular, but he was surprisingly omitted from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast squad. Bamba is a 190-cm-tall centre back and he is well known for his aerial skills and brilliant tackles.
Highlighted Team (Bournemouth):
Bournemouth are a professional football club that was formed back in 1890. The Cherries secured promotion to the Premier League in the 2015/2016 season, with the team making it to the English top flight for the first time ever.
Bournemouth play their home games at Dean Court and the capacity of the stadium is 11,469.
The Cherries enjoyed a very successful season on their Premier League debut, with the team beating the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the national championship. Glenn Murray scored the winner for Bournemouth in the 1-0 win over the capital club at Stamford Bridge and that is probably the greatest victory in the club’s history.
Bournemouth have been participating in the FA Cup since 1913, but they have yet to win the trophy in the prestigious competition. It has to be noted that the club’s original name Boscombe Athletic Football Club was changed to Bournemouth back in 1923 as the club owners wanted the Cherries to be more representative of the district.
