Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Heerenveen and Twente face each other in a highly-anticipated Eredivisie clash at Abe Lenstra Stadion on Matchday 7. Heerenveen aim to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Feyenoord, with the team eyeing their fourth win of the season. De Superfriezen continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Both Kaib and Kongolo are rated doubtful for the match, while Poland international Bochniewicz is out of contention with a knee injury.
The Reds, on the other hand, have been showing signs of improvement of late, with the team beating both Vitesse (4-1) and AZ Alkmaar (3-1) in style. Since Heerenveen are a real force to be reckoned with at home, over 2.5 goals betting option should be considered. Czech international Cerny is injured, while both Lukoki and Pierie will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Highlighted Player (Erwin Mulder):
Erwin Mulder is an experienced Dutch footballer who plays for Heerenveen as a goalkeeper. Mulder spent his youth career at R.K.P.S.C, Vitesse Arnhem, and Feyenoord, and he continued playing for the Rotterdam club at senior level.
After making 120 appearances in the Eredivisie with Feyenoord, the 193-cm-tall shot-stopper signed for Heerenveen as a free agent in the summer of 2015. It has to be noted, though, that Erwin Mulder was loaned to Excelsior during his spell with Feyenoord. His next stop was Swansea City where he made 29 league appearances before returning to Heerenveen in 2020.
Erwin Mulder was born in Pannerden on March 3, 1989, and he has three caps with the Netherlands U20 team. He has yet to earn a call-up with the Oranje senior team. The Heerenveen goalkeeper was named in the Netherlands Euro 2012 provisional squad, but after the training with the national team, he failed to make the cut.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
