Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Fortuna Sittard play host to NEC Nijmegen at their Fortuna Sittard Stadion on day 8 of the new Eredivisie campaign. Fortuna kicked off the new season with a 2-1 win over Twente, but they are on a five-game winless run ahead of the visit of NEC. Sjors Ultee’s troops did share the spoils with Vitesse in Arnhem at the weekend, but it has to be noted that the Fortunezen had no more than two goal attempts in the GelreDome clash. Zian Flemming is sidelined with injury, while Arianit Ferati has been tested positive for coronavirus.
Lisandro Semedo is rated doubtful for the clash. NEC, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 5-3 loss to Feyenoord in Rotterdam. The newcomers have been struggling at the back of late, and seeing that Fortuna are desperate to put an end to their five-game winless run, we predict that the visitors will return home empty-handed. Both Mathias de Wolf and Rens Van Eijden are out of contention with injuries.
