Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After coming from two goals behind to share the spoils with Liverpool, Brighton will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Newcastle United on Matchday 11. The Seagulls failed to win the previous five league fixtures, but they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Considering that Brighton totally outplayed Liverpool in the second half, home win should be considered.
All Welbeck, Alzate, and Burn are out of contention with injuries for the home side. The Magpies, on the other hand, can’t wait for the January transfer window to start as new owner is eager to add several high-profile players to the squad. Newcastle, though, do not seem to be at their sharpest at the moment, and that is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on Brighton. Graeme Jones has no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday’s game.
Highlighted Player (Davy Pröpper):
Born in Arnhem, Netherlands on September 2, 1991, Davy Propper is a Dutch footballer who plays for Brighton in the Premier League as a midfielder. Propper is a product of Vitesse football school and you should know that he scored 18 goals in 142 appearances for his hometown club in the Eredivisie.
After ending his spell with Vitesse, Davy Propper joined fellow Dutch side PSV where he scored 16 goals in 67 appearances in the national championship. In 2017 the Dutch footballer decided to take a step forward in his career as he signed a deal with the Seagulls.
Davy Propper has established himself as a first-team regular at Brighton and, to make things even better for him, he represented Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both attacking and defensive midfielder as well. Davy Propper made his senior debut for the Dutch national football team on June 5, 2015 against USA, replacing captain Robin van Persie in the 57th minute.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354.
Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past.
David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The color of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
