Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Tottenham and Wolverhampton face each other in London in a highly-anticipated Premier League game. Spurs suffered a dip in form, with the team losing to both Chelsea (0-2) and Southampton (2-3) in the previous two league fixtures, and they face yet another difficult task against the in-form Wolves. Pacey winger Steven Bergwijn should be recalled to the starting XI, while Tanganga and Tier remains in the recovery room.
As always, Harry Kane will lead the line for the capital club. Wolverhampton, on the other hand, have been in a fine form in 2022, but beating Antonio Conte’s men on the road is easier said than done. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment, and, taking everything into account, the share of spoils is on the cards. Romain Saiss is back from international duty, while Hee-Chan Hwan is a major doubt. Raul Jimenez has recovered from a calf injury.
Highlighted Player (Harry Kane):
Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.
Highlighted Team (Wolves):
Wolverhampton are a club that was originally known as St. Luke’s FC. The Wolves play in the Championship and they were founded in 1877. Molineux is the home ground of Wolverhampton and the capacity of the stadium is 31,700. Wolverhampton have won four FA Cup trophies (1893, 1908, 1949, 1960), with the team lifting the League Cup trophy in 1974 and 1980.
The colour of the club’s shirts is orange and they wear black shorts. The Wolves wear blue jerseys when playing away from home. Wolverhampton’s main rivals are West Bromwich Albion and they have been facing each other in the Black Country derby since 1888. In their first meeting in the local derby WBA recorded a 1-0 win over Wolves.
Wolverhampton have won three First Division trophies (1953/1954, 1957/1958, 1958/1959) and they have clinched four FA Cup titles as well (1893, 1908, 1949, 1960). The club’s owner is Steve Morgan.
