Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Saturday’s football game at Stadio Arechi pits together Salernitana and Milan, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the remainder of the season. Salernitana are desperate to secure the Serie A survival, but, as things stand now, the rock-bottom side will find it hard to avoid relegation to the Serie B. All Coulibaly, Schiavone, and Ruggeri are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Rossoneri, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Inter and Sampdoria. The league leaders have found their best form of late, and we predict that they are going to beat the relegation strugglers on Matchday 26. Both Kjaer and Ibrahimovic are sidelined with injuries, while Theo Hernandez is back from suspension. In the first half of the season Milan defeated Salernitana 2-0 at Stadio San Siro, which is yet another reason why away win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Simon Kjaer):
Simon Kjaer began his senior career at FC Midtjylland and in 2008 he moved to Italy, signing a deal with Palermo. The Danish footballer scored his first goal for Palermo on 2 November in a 3-0 victory over Chievo Verona.
After making 62 league appearances for the Sicilian outfit he joined Wolfsburg on 30 June, 2010, playing 57 games in the Bundesliga with the Wolves. After ending his loan spell with Roma, the Danish defenders returns to Woflsburg and on 5 July, 2013 he moved to Lille.
The 189-cm-tall footballer, who was born in Horsens, Denmark on 16 March, 1989, signed a four-year deal with Fenerbahce on 16 June, 2015 for a fee of €7.65 million. Simon Kjaer was named Danish U19 Player of the Year in 2007 and he has 10 caps for the Denmark U19 team. The Fenerbahce defender played for Denmark at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and he started the games against Netherlands and Cameroon in the group stages of the showpiece tournament.
Highlighted Team (Milan):
AC Milan are regarded as one of the biggest club in Italy. The Rossoneri compete in the Italian Serie A and they have won 18 domestic trophies. Speaking of the club’s European success, Milan have clinched seven Champions League (European Cup) trophies.
Milan were on the verge of beating Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final, but the Premier League outfit came from three goals behind and eventually won the prestigious trophy on penalties. The Rossoneri play their home games at Stadio San Siro (80,018), the stadium that was opened in 1926. It is well known that Milan’s bitterest rivals are Inter and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Madonnina.
Milan were founded in 1899 by a lace-maker from England named Herbert Kilpin and a businessman Alfred Edwards. Milan’s home kits are red and black and that is why the team’s nickname is Rossoneri (The Red and Blacks).
The likes of Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Roberto Donadoni, Dejan Savicevic, Frank Rijkaard, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Andrea Pirlo are the most famous footballers who have represented the San Siro outfit.
