Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Buoyed by a 3-2 win over Oxford United, Portsmouth will look to stay in the playoffs race when they take on mid-table Accrington. The Pompey proved their worth in the midweek triumph, with the team recording their ninth home win of the process. Portsmouth are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side.
All Shaun Williams, Marcus Harness, and Michael Jacobs are sidelined with injuries, while Paul Downing is a major doubt. The Accy Stanley, on the other hand, aim to build on a 3-2 win over Wycombe. The visitors, though, have slim chances of securing a top-six finish, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. To make things even worse for the visiting side, defender Mitchell Clark is banned for the match following his sending off in the triumph over the Chairboys.
