Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Highbury Stadium will host Saturday’s League One game between Fleetwood and Doncaster, the two relegation-threatened teams. The Cod Army are on a five-game losing run, with the team dropping to 19th place in the standings. Keep in mind, though, that Fleetwood played each of their last three league fixtures on the road. Zak Jules is back from suspension, while Jordan Rossiter continues to miss out with injury.
The Donny, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Cheltenham and Gillingham. Since the visitors will go for a win in Saturday’s relegation six-pointer as well, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. Ben Jackson, who limped off with injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature against Fleetwood. In the first half of the season the Cod Army defeated the Donny thanks to Ellis Harrison’s goal.
Highlighted Player (Callum Camps):
Callum Camps is yet another product of Rochdale football school. Born in Stockport, England on November 30, 1995, Camps came through Rochdale youth team before making his senior debut on April 13, 2013 in a 2-2 draw with Port Vale.
He has been playing for the Dale ever since and it has to be noted that his most successful season was the 2016/2017 as he scored eight goals in 44 appearances in the League one for the club. Despite being born in England, Callum Caps is eligible to play for Northern Ireland national team through his grandmother, but he has only one cap with the Northern Ireland U21 team.
He made his debut with the U21 team in a 2-1 loss to Macedonia on October 13, 2015. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and attacking midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Doncaster):
Based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Doncaster Rovers are an English football club that compete in the League One. Keepmoat Stadium is the club’s home ground. The venue was opened on August 3, 2007 and it can hold up to 15,231 spectators.
Doncaster Rovers footballers wear white shirts with red stripes and white shorts when playing on home soil, whereas the club’s away colours are dark blue and red. Speaking of the Rovers’ history, the club was established back in 1879 by Alber Jenkins, who worked as a fitter at Doncaster’s Great Northern Railway.
Doncaster Rovers shared the spoils with Rawmarsh in their first ever game. The likes of Rotherham United, Barnsley, Grimsby Town and Scuntorpe United are considered the club’s main rivals. Over the years Doncaster fans have developed a rivalry with Plymout Argule as there have been fireworks in their games. Donny Dog, that wears a red and white jersey, is the club’s mascot.
