Tranmere will be aiming to keep their playoffs hopes alive when they face Oldham in the League Two Round 45. The Super Whites suffered a heart-breaking 2-0 loss to Stevenage at the weekend, with the team dropping to 10th place in the standings. Tranmere are four points behind the playoffs berth, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the home side.
Fit-again midfielder Jay Spearing is widely expected to replace Josh Hawkes in the starting XI, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team. The Latics, on the other hand, are on a four-game losing run in the League Two. Since Oldham failed to secure the survival, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise.
