Bournemouth will look to impress on their return to the Premier League when they welcome Aston Villa to their Vitality Stadium on Matchday 1. The Cherries were anything but impressive in pre-season, with the team losing to all Braga, Bristol City, and Real Sociedad, while beating Sheffield Wednesday. Summer signing Marcus Tavernier is likely to make his Premier League debut against Villa, while Joe Rothwell misses the season opener through injury.
The Villans, on the other hand, have been producing fine displays in the English top flight ever since Steven Gerrard took over the reins. He represented the Boys in Green at the 2016 European Championship finals and he scored the winner against Italy that helped the team make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament.
