Wycombe Wanderers will look to build on the EFL Cup triumph over Northampton when they take on Shrewsbury on Matchday 3. The Chairboys produce much better showings at home than on the travels, and they are surely capable of matching the Shrews at their Adams Park. Since head coach Gareth Ainsworth has a full squad to choose from, home win should definitely be considered.
The visitors, on the other hand, eliminated Carlisle United in their EFL Cup opener, but given their anything but promising displays at the start of the new League One campaign, we believe that punters from all four corners of the world can find value in betting on the home side. After spending a couple of seasons on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and Walsall, the English defender signed a three-year deal with Barnsley in the summer of 2017 for an undisclosed fee. Jason McCarthy was struggling to secure a first-team football at the Oakwell stadium outfit and, as a result, he returned to Wycombe Wanderers on August 9, 2018, penning a three-year contract with the League One side.
His preferred foot is right, his main position centre-back, but he is used as a right-back as well. Jason McCarthy was born in Southampton on November 7, 1995.
