There will be fireworks when Fulham and Brentford face each other in a small London derby on day 3 of the new Premier League campaign. The Cottagers did well to hold star-studded Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in their opener, with the team sharing the spoils with Wolverhampton at the weekend as well. Aleksandar Mitrovic, who failed to convert a penalty in the Molineux Stadium clash, will be the man to keep an eye on in the home team, while both Manor Solomon and Harry Wilson continue to miss out through injuries.
The Bees, on the other hand, impressed in a 4-0 win over Manchester United, meaning that they are high on confidence ahead of the local derby. Brentford looked sharp in front of goal in the triumph over CR7 and Co, and seeing that Fulham suit them, away win should be considered. When the two teams met in the EFL Cup two years ago the Bees outplayed the Cottagers 3-0. Defensive trio Canos – Ajer – Pinnock remains on the sidelines for the visiting team.

Tom Cairney is a professional footballer who plays for Fulham. His main position is central midfielder, but he plays as an attacking midfielder and a right midfielder as well. The left-footed player was born in Nottingham, England on 20 January, 1991 and he started his youth career at Leeds United.
In 2007 he moved to Hull City and he was named Hull’s Young Player of the Year for the 2008/2009 campaign. After making 70 league appearances for the Tigers he joined Blackburn Rovers on 1 August, 2013 on loan and on 2 January, 2014 he signed a permanent deal with the Riversiders. At the end of the 2014/2015 Championship campaign he joined Fulham.
Tom Cairney’s father is Scottish and, as a result, the Fulham footballer decided to represent Scotland on the international stage. Cairney has 2 caps for Scotland U-21 and he made 6 appearances for Scotland U-21 team. It has to be noted that he suffered a serious injury in August 2012. The injury forced him to be out of contention for over three months.

Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
