Millwall and Rotherham go head to head at the Den in the first game of the year. The Lions have been showing signs of improvement of late, but they need to start winning on a regular basis if they are to secure a top-six finish. Since boss Gary Rowett will have a full squad to choose from, home win should definitely be considered.
Meanwhile, the Millers do not seem to be at their sharpest, with the team collecting only one point in total from the last four league matches, and given their difficulties on the road, we predict that the capital club will emerge triumphant in Sunday’s showdown. Tom Eaves limped off with injury in a 2-0 loss to Huddersfield Town, with Northern Ireland international Conor Washington likely to step up. Georgie Kelly is yet another absentee in the away team.

After making 121 appearances in the league for Motherwell, Shaun Hutchinson returned to England in 2014, signing a deal with Championship club Fulham. Hutchinson played no more than 30 games for the Cottagers before joining fellow capital club Millwall on June 21, 2016.
He made his debut for the Lions against Peterborough United on August 16, 2016 and he has been playing for the club ever since. Shaun Hutchinson’s main position is centre-back, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. The Millwall defender has a contract with the club which expires on June 30, 2018 and it has to be noted that his preferred foot is left.
