Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Cadiz and Almeria face each other at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on day 15 of the 2022/2023 La Liga campaign. The Yellow Submarine aim to escape the relegation zone, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Almeria. Experienced forward Lucas Perez is pushing for a rare start after scoring as a substitute in a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid, whilst Ivan Alejo Peralta misses out through suspension.
Defender Joseba Zaldua has yet to overcome a ligament problem. Meanwhile, los Rojiblancos are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but given their poor away record (0-1-6), we predict that the hosts are going to pick up all three points from the match. Rodrigo Ely is banned for the match, while Ivan Martos remains on the sidelines with injury for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Lucas Perez):
Lucas Perez is a Spanish footballer who plays for Deportivo La Coruna as a striker. Lucas Perez was born in La Coruna on 10 September, 1988 and he started his youth career at Alaves. Between 2007 and 2009 he played for Atletico Madrid C and in 2009 he signed for Rayo Vallecano.
Lucas Perez scored 25 goals in 44 appearances for los Vallecanos, but he played no more than seven matches for the first team. In 2011 he joined Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv, but two years later he moved to PAOK, where he played 32 league games for the Greek outfit (scoring nine goals).
Lucas made it to the Greek Football Cup final with PAOk in the 2013/2014 season, but Panathinaikos emerged triumphant in the title game. On 12 August, 2015, Lucas signed a four-year deal with his home-town club Deportivo La Coruna and he impressed in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign, scoring 17 goals for the Galician outfit.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
