Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Stadio Artemio Franchi will host Thursday’s Conference League game between Fiorentina and Braga. The Viola played out a 1-1 draw with Empoli in the local derby on Sunday, and they are now on a quest to seal their spot in the Conference League last 16. Fiorentina crushed Braga 4-0 in the first leg, and it is no wonder the odds for home win have been dropping. Nikola Milenkovic limped off with injury at the weekend, with Igor likely to step up.
The Reds, on the other hand, face an uphill task in the second leg as they need to overcome a four-goal deficit in Florence. Since Braga are low on confidence ahead of the trip to Italy, we are going to put our money on Vincenzo Italiano’s troops. Defender Gorby remains on the sidelines with injury for the visiting team, while Iuri Medeiros should be recalled to the starting XI.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Braga):
Braga are a Portuguese club that have always been in the shadow of Primeira Liga giants Porto, Benfica and Sporting. Os Minhotos were founded on 19 January, 1921 and they originally played in green and white kits. After the World War II they changed their kits to red and they have been wearing red shirts and white shorts ever since.
Braga play their home games at Estadio Municipal de Braga, the stadium that was opened in December, 2003. Os Minhotos have yet to win the Primeira Liga title, but they finished the 2009/2010 campaign in second position in the standings, just five points behind champions Benfica.
In 2011 Braga participated in the Europa League final, but fellow Portuguese outfit Porto proved to be a big catch for Os Minhotos. Anyhow, that is regarded as the club’s biggest success. Vitoria de Guimaraes are considered Braga’s bitter rivals and the two teams face each other in the Minho derby.
