Championship promotion will be at stake when Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday square off against each other at Wembley Stadium in the League One playoffs final. The Tykes proved their worth in the double-header against Bolton, but they will have a big fish to fry in the decider. With no fresh injury worries to report, boss Michael Duff is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated the Trotters thanks to Liam Kitching’s goal.
The Owls, on the other hand, made a historical comeback in the two-legged tie with Peterborough, with the team overcoming a four-goal deficit in the reverse fixture. Considering that Wednesday are high on spirits ahead of the final away win should be considered. Fit-again defender Reece James should keep his place in the starting XI, while the opposition back-line should have Michael Smith at bay as the 31-year-old forward impressed in the semis.

Reece James is a talented Chelsea defender who plays for Wigan Athletic on loan. Born in Redbridge, England on December 8, 1999, James started his youth career at Chelsea football academy at the age of 6. The talented teenager played for England U18 and U19 teams and he currently represents the U20 team on the international stage.
Reece James scored 3 goals in 45 appearances for Wigan in the 2018/2019 Championship campaign, but that did not help the Latics avoid relegation to the League One. His numbers from the 2018/2019 season are impressive as he completed 91 successful tackles, 54 blocks, 44 successful dribbles and 93 clearances.
James, on the other hand, has yet to find the net for the England U20 national team. His main position is right back, but he is capable of playing as both centre-back and defensive midfielder as well. Reece James turned professional in March 2017.

Barnsley are an English club nicknamed the Tykes. The club was founded in 1887 and it has to be noted that they spend more seasons in the Championship than any other club in the history. The Tykes played in the Sheffield and District League from 1890, but in 1895 they were part of the Midland League. Barnsley play their home games at Oakwell, the stadium that was built in 1887.
The capacity of the stadium is 23,009 and it was opened back in 1888, just one year after the club’s foundation. The Tykes made it to the FA Cup final in 1910, but Newcastle United proved to be a big catch for the Oakwell outfit in the title game.
Nonetheless, Barnsley won the FA cup trophy in 1912 and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Barnsley defeated West Bromwich Albion in the two-legged tie (0-0, 1-0) to clinch the prestigious trophy for the first and only time in their history.
