Our prediction for this Championship match:
Carrow Road will be the center of attention as Norwich City kick off the 2023/2024 Championship campaign with a thrilling encounter against Hull City, drawing the focus of all football enthusiasts. The Canaries are seen as one of the main candidates for promotion and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in the season opener. Key attacker Teemu Pukki has left the club in the summer transfer window, but new signings Jack Stacey, Ashley Barnes, Shane Duffy, Borja Sainz, and Christian Fassnacht are surely going to help Norwich improve their game.
The Tigers, meanwhile, will rely on Colombia striker Oscar Estupinan, who scored 13 goals last season, but given their difficulties on the road, we predict that the hosts are going to emerge triumphant in Saturday’s encounter. New signing Jason Lokilo is likely to make his Championship debut against the Canaries.
Highlighted Player (Max Aarons):
London Born Max Aarons is an English professional footballer who has represented England at the under-19 and under-21 level. At the club level, the right-back who was born on the 4th of January, 2000, started his youth career with Luton Town in 2009.
After seven years of development, he left Luton to join Norwich City in 2016 and broke into their first-team set up two years later. He made his professional debut for the Canaries on the 2nd of September, 2018, featuring in their 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town. He has since made a total of 50 appearances and is currently on a contract with the club that expires in 2024.
His performance in the 18/19 season is what earned the 19-year-old a call-up to the England Under-21 setup, making his debut for the same in an Under-21 European Qualifier against Turkey U21 on the 6th of September, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
