Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
In the upcoming EFL Cup round 1 clash, Millwall and Reading are set to battle it out in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Millwall kick-started their season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough, showcasing their determination and power. Eager to continue their winning streak, the Lions aim to provide their fans with another reason to rejoice. On the other side, Reading face an uphill task as they head into this match following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Peterborough in their League One opener. Their struggles away from home add an extra layer of challenge for the visitors.
Romaine Sawyers is expected to return to the starting lineup for Millwall, having secured the winning goal as a substitute against Middlesbrough. Meanwhile, Reading's Mbengue and Wing are vying for a spot in the starting XI, adding depth to the visiting team's options. Considering recent form and home advantage, we predict that Millwall, the Championship side, will emerge victorious in this encounter. Their early-season momentum and solid performance make them the favorites to progress in the EFL Cup.
