Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Wolverhampton will be aiming to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Everton when they take on Blackpool in the EFL Cup last 64. Their first win of the season gave players a confidence boost and, as a result, the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat the Seasiders in front of home fans. All Sasa Kalajdzic, Pablo Sarabia, and Ait Nouri should start against Blackpool, whilst there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The League One Side, on the other hand, failed to win the previous four league matches; therefore, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Wolves’ party at Molineux Stadium. Shayne Lavery limped off with injury in a 3-0 loss to Lincoln at the weekend, with Jordan Rhodes likely to step up. Republic of Ireland defender Andy Lions is pushing for a start as well.
Highlighted Player (Hee-Chan Hwang):
Hwang Hee-Chan is a product of Pohang Steelers football academy. The Korean attacker, who was born in Chuncheon on January 26, 1996, started his senior career at FC Liefering of Austria and he scored 13 goals in 31 appearances for the club. The 177-cm tall striker currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg and you should bear in mind that he netted 12 goals for the club in the 2016/2017 season.
Hwang Hee-Chan won his second Austrian Bundesliga title with Salzburg in the 2016/2017 season, but the Red Bulls eventually failed to make it to the Champions League group stages. The Salzburg footballer made his South Korea debut in a 2-0 win over Canada on November 11, 2016.
Hee-Chan played regularly for the Korea national football team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and he scored one goal in the process. The Koreans eventually booked their place at the showpiece tournament in Russia, meaning that the Salzburg attacker will have a chance to prove his worth on the big stage.
Highlighted Team (Blackpool):
Blackpool FC are a professional English club based in Blackpool, Lancashire. Considering that Blackpool is a seaside town, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Seasiders. Founded back in 1887, the club play their home matches at Bloomfield Road, which can hold up to 17,338 spectators. In the 2009/2010 season Blackpool secured promotion to the Premier League, but they were not competitive at this level, suffering relegation to the Championship the following season.
The club’s biggest success, though, came in 1953 when they defeated Bolton Wanderers 4-3 in the FA Cup final. Blackpool are well known for their orange shirts, but the dominant colour of their away kit is white. Preston are considered the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the West Lancashire derby.
Charlie Adam, who played for Liverpool and has 26 caps for Scotland national team, is regarded as one of the club’s most notable players.
