North Macedonia
Italy will be aiming to overtake Ukraine in second place in Group C when they welcome North Macedonia to Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening. This has to go down as a must-win game for the Azzurri and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Blagoja Milevski’s troops. Andrea Cambiaso and Andera Colpani have received their first call-ups, while Juventus ace Federico Chiesa returns from injury. Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has been omitted.
The Macedonians, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Ukraine in October and given the importance of Friday’s clash for Luciano Spalletti’s troops, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be former Leeds United full-back Egzjan Alioski, who has netted 12 goals in 67 appearances for the North Macedonia national team.
Highlighted Player (Domenico Berardi):
Once one of the most promising young players in Serie A, Domenico Berardi is the Italian footballer that plays for Sassuolo and the Italy national team. Born in Cairati, Calabria, the forward begun his professional career back in 2012, when he helped the Neroverdi win Serie B and play in Serie A next season and was named as the best player of the competition, only 18 years of age.
He made his first appearance for the Italy U19 national team in the same season. His excellent performances draw the attention of Juventus and the Old Lady confirmed in the beginning of the Season 2013/14 that Domenico Berardi joined the club on a co-ownership deal.
The player never played for Juventus because he remained in Sassuolo and he recently signed a new contract with the Neroverdi. The 24-year-old right winger, who can also play as a left winger and a second striker, made his first appearance in the senior national team in June 2018.

Former Yugoslavian republic North Macedonia became member of both FIFA and UEFA in 1994 and they have been competing on the international stage ever since. The Crveni Risovi rolled over Slovenia (4-1) in their first ever official match and the team recorded their biggest win on November 9, 11996, with the team crushing minnows Liechtenstein 11-1 in Eschen-Mauren.
The North Macedonians have yet to qualify for the finals of a major tournament despite the fact that several high-profile footballers played for the former Yugoslav republic. Goran Pandev is undisputedly the team’s most notable player as he played for the likes of Lazion, Inter, Napoli and Galatasaray during his professional career.
Pandev scored his 28th and 29th goal for North Macedonia in a 3-0 win over Belarus in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. However, Goce Seldloski is the most capped player (100). North Macedonia welcome their rivals at Philip II Arena and they wear red shirts with yellow stripe and red shorts when playing at home ground. The colour of their away kits is white.
