Our prediction for this DFB Pokal match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga derby, Bayer Leverkusen will look to return to start a new winning run when they face Paderborn in the German Cup last 16. Xabi Alonso is doing an excellent job with the BayArena outfit and his men are seen as hot favourites to advance to the DFB Pokal quarter-finals. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Victor Boniface, who scored the equalizer at the weekend, while fit-again forward Patrik Schick is pushing for a start.
Paderborn, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Hannover and they managed to get one thanks to Florent Muslija’s goal. The 2. Bundesliga team, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Leverkusen’s party at BayArena. All Niclas Nadj, Visar Musliu, and Kimberly Ezekwem are out of contention through injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Jonas Hofmann):
Jonas Hofmann is a German football player, who was born in Heidelberg on 14 July, 1992. Hofmann is a right winger who is capable of playing as both left winger and an attacking midfielder as well. He played for Hoffenheim II before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2011 and it has to be noted that he made 71 appearances for the reserve team between 2011 and 2014.
Hofmann made his Bundesliga debut against Hoffenheim on 16 December, 2012. He came as a substitute in the dying minutes of the match. After making 38 appearances for BVB, the German footballer signed a four-year deal with Borussia M’gladbach on 29 December, 2015. His contract with the club expires in 2020. Jonas Hofmann played five games for Germany U18 and he has 10 caps for Germany U21.
You should have in mind that he won two Bundesliga trophies with Borussia Dortmund (2010/2011, 2011/2012), while clinching the German Cup title in 2012 with the Millionaires as well. His was part of the Borussia Dortmund team that faced Bayern Munich in the 2012/2013 Champions League final.
