Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, Tottenham will be aiming to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Everton in London on Saturday afternoon. Spurs have been producing excellent displays of late and, as a result, the odds for home win are dropping. Brennan Johnson should recover in time to face Everton, while both Yves Bissouma and Destiny Udogie are banned for the match. This match comes too early for Giovani Lo Celso, who remains in the recovery room alongside Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Ivan Perisic, Micky van de Ven, and Ryan Sessegnon.
The Toffees, on the other hand, are on a four-game winning run in the Premier League, with the team eyeing their fifth consecutive clean sheet. Given the number of absentees in the home team, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. All Andre Gomes, Vitali Mykolenko, Ashley Young, Seamus Coleman, and Dele Alli are sidelined with injuries, while Abdoulaye Doucoure should recover in time to face Tottenham.
Highlighted Player (Abdoulaye Doucouré):
French international midfielder Abdoulaye Doucour is a bundle of raw energy and a player who was voted Watford’s Player of the Season during the 2017/18 campaign. A deep-lying midfielder who takes part in play build-up from behind is a defensive asset who took time to blossom and announce himself at the international stage. He first burst to prominence at Ligue 1 side Rennes in 2012 after a year with the club’s B side and went on to play 75 league matches and score 12 goals.
Watford bought Doucoure in 2016 but sent him on loan to Granada, where he took part in 15 league matches. Determined to prove his worth in the Premier League, the Frenchman of Mali descent wasted no time in grabbing a starting spot under both Marco Silva and Javi Garcia, respectively, upon his return from Spain.
The total of 38 matches played along with 8 goals scored made Doucoure one of the most sought-after assets in the summer of 2018 but the player remained at Vicarage Road despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Highlighted Team (Tottenham):
Tottenham Hotspur are a professional football club based in North London. Spurs host their rivals at White Hart Lane and the capacity of the stadium is 36,284. Tottenham won the Premier League (First Division) trophy in 1950/1951 and 1960/1961 and despite producing terrific displays in the 2015/2016 campaign Mauro Pochettino’s team eventually finished the season in third place in the standings.
Tottenham’s bitter rivals are Arsenal, but Chelsea and West Ham United are regarded as the team’s fierce opponents as well. Spurs have won eight FA Cup trophies, with the team also lifting the 1962/1963 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title.
Tottenham Hotspur hammered Atletico Madrid in the final of the competition back then (5-1). The likes of David Ginola, Sol Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann, Gary Lineker, Luka Modric, Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale are star players that used to play for the White Hart Lane outfit in the past. The colour of Tottenham Hotspur’s home kit is white.
