Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After dropping two points in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Man City will look to return to winning ways when they take on Brentford in a postponed Premier League game. The Citizens are eager to melt Liverpool’s advantage to only one point and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the capital club. Both Jack Grealish and Josko Guardiol remain in the recovery room, while Bernardo Silva should be recalled to the starting XI. As always, Erling Haaland will lead the line for the title hopefuls.
The Bees, meanwhile, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to Liverpool and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Man City’s party at Etihad Stadium. A man to keep an eye on in the visiting team will be Ivan Toney, who has been scoring goals for fun ever since he returned from a long-term ban, while all Joshua Da Silva, Aaron Hickey, and Kevin Schade are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Nathan Ake):
Ake is a professional footballer who plays for the Dutch National Team and AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League. The versatile defender who was born on the 18th of February, 1995, started his youth career in 2003 with local club ADO Den Haag. He then moved to Feyenoord in 2007 before joining Chelsea's youth academy four years later.
Ake made his first professional appearance at the age of 17, playing for the Blues in a 0-1 away victory against Norwich on the 26th of December, 2012. Barring a few starts and substitute appearances, Ake spent his next few years at Chelsea mostly in the reserves before being sent out on a one month loan to Reading in 2015. Upon his return, he immediately joined Watford on a season-long loan where his displays earned him the Watford's young player of the season award. Another successful loan spell at Bournemouth succeeded his time at Watford before Chelsea recalled him in January 2017.
At the start of the 17/18 season, the 24-year-old rejoined his current club Bournemouth permanently on a five-year contract worth 20 million pounds. On the International stage, Ake has represented the Netherlands at every youth level and has even captained the under-17 and under-19 sides. He made his first senior appearance on the 31st of May, 2017, featuring in Hollands 2-1 friendly win over Morocco.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
