Our prediction for this Coupe de France match:
Le Puy-en-Velay and Rennes square off against each other in a David-vs-Goliath clash at Stade Charles Massot. The lower-league side set up a meeting with Rennes by beating Laval in the last 16, but they will have a mountain to climb in Thursday’s clash. Les Rouges et Noirs, on the other hand, are eager to go all the way in the French Cup and given their fine form in the Ligue 1, anything but a routine away win would be a big surprise.
Rennes produced a fine display in a 1-1 draw with big-spending PSG and regardless of which players will be deployed in the starting XI, we are tempted to put our money on the visitors. Benjamin Bourigeaud is pushing for a recall to the starting XI, while Azor Matusiwa is back from suspension. Both Enzo Le Fee and Fabian Rieder are sidelined with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Team (Rennes):
