After sharing the spoils with Osasuna in Pamplona, Leganes will look to record their first win of the season when they welcome Las Palmas to their Estadio Municipal de Butarque. The capital club’s main goal is to secure the La Liga survival and, as a result, they must collect as many points as possible from home games if they are to meet the goal. Jorge Saenz remains in the recovery room, but there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
La Union Deportiva, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Sevilla. Las Palmas produced a fine display in their opener, but given their difficulties on the road, we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing more than one point from Sunday’s encounter. Leganes secured their promotion to the Spanish La Liga for the first time ever in 2016 and, no doubt, that is considered the club’s biggest success.
Leganes’ bitterest rivals are fellow capital club Getafe and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the South Madrid derby.
