Chelsea will look to recover from a heart-breaking 2-0 loss to Man City when they take on Servette in their Europa Conference League opener. The Blues are seen as hot favourites to win Thursday’s clash, but the Swiss should not be underestimated. Defender Reece James is sidelined through suspension, while winger Raheem Sterling remains in the recovery room. Summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is widely expected to return to the starting XI.
Servette, on the other hand, failed to upset Braga in the Europa League third qualifying round and seeing that Chelsea have turned their Stamford Bridge into a real fortress, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. As for the visiting side, forward Dereck Kutesa is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute in the last qualifying game. There are no fresh injury worries in the away team.
