Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Following a morale-boosting wn over Crystal Palace, Everton will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they host Newcastle United to their Goodison Park. The Toffees managed to grab their first win of the season, but they do not want to stop now. A man to watch in the home team will be Dwight McNeil, who scored a brace in the last league match, while the likes of Nathan Patterson, Youssef Chermiti, Armando Broja, and Seamus Coleman are out of contention with injuries.
The Magpies, on the other hand, aim to move closer to the Champions League berth after surviving AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup last 32. Eddie Howe rested several first-team regulars in the midweek triumph, but the former Bournemouth boss is going to field the best possible side against Everton. The 46-year-old tactician, though, can’t count on the likes of Matthew Target, Alexander Isak, Lewis Miley, Callum Wilson, and Jamaal Lascelles for Saturday’s clash. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the cards as Everton head into the match full of confidence.
Highlighted Player (Abdoulaye Doucouré):
French international midfielder Abdoulaye Doucour is a bundle of raw energy and a player who was voted Watford’s Player of the Season during the 2017/18 campaign. A deep-lying midfielder who takes part in play build-up from behind is a defensive asset who took time to blossom and announce himself at the international stage. He first burst to prominence at Ligue 1 side Rennes in 2012 after a year with the club’s B side and went on to play 75 league matches and score 12 goals.
Watford bought Doucoure in 2016 but sent him on loan to Granada, where he took part in 15 league matches. Determined to prove his worth in the Premier League, the Frenchman of Mali descent wasted no time in grabbing a starting spot under both Marco Silva and Javi Garcia, respectively, upon his return from Spain.
The total of 38 matches played along with 8 goals scored made Doucoure one of the most sought-after assets in the summer of 2018 but the player remained at Vicarage Road despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354.
Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past.
David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The color of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
