Our prediction for this Nations League match:
After dropping two points in a 2-2 draw with Belgium, Italy will be aiming to return to winning ways when they take on Israel at Stadio Friuli (Udine). AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is banned for the match following his sending-off against the Red Devils, with Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus) likely to step up. There are no fresh injury worries in Luciano Spalletti’s team.
The Israelis, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to Mbappe-less France, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. Even though there are no new injury concerns in the home team, Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Dor Peretz should sneak into the starting XI. Ran Ben Shimon should stick to the 3-5-2 formation. Earlier in the process Italy defeated Israel 2-1, which goes in favour of our earlier prediction.
Highlighted Player (Sandro Tonali):
After starting his youth career at Piacenza back in 2009, Sandro Tonali moved to Brescia three years later. The 181-cm-tall defender has been playing for le Rondinelle ever since and it has to be noted that he made his debut with the Stadio Mario Rigamonti outfit on August 26, 2017 in a 2-1 defeat to Avellino.
Sandro Tonali scored his first ever league goal for Brescia in a 4-2 loss to Salernitana on April 28, 2018. The talented midfielder, who was born in Lodi on May 8, 2000, represents Italy U21 team in international matches.
He made his debut with the Italy U21 national team on June 19, 2019 in a 1-0 defeat to Poland. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. Sandro’s preferred foot is right and his contract with Brescia should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Israel):
Israel are the direct successor of the Mandatory Palestine national football team. The Israelis received full UEFA membership in 1994, 20 years after leaving AFC and they have been facing European sides in the World Cup qualifiers ever since. Israel participated at the 1970 FIFA World Cup finals in Mexico, but they failed to make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament.
The Israeli national football team have yet to qualify for the final stages of the European Championship, but they made it to the quarter-finals of the Olympics on two occasions (1968, 1976). Israel play their home games at both Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa and Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
Yossi Benayoun is the most famous and the most capped Israeli footballer and it has to be noted that the pacey midfielder played for the likes of Racing Santander, West Ham United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in the past. Israel play their home games in blue shirts and blue shorts, whilst they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels.
