Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Saturday’s football game between Willem II and Twente will open round 11 of the new Eredivisie campaign. The Tricolores survived lower-league side Genemuiden in the KNVB Beker last 64 in midweek and they are now on a quest to return to winning ways in the national championship. All Tirpan, Meerveld, and Vaesen return to the starting XI after the trio was rested in the KNVB Beker clash. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The Reds, on the other hand, rolled over Heracles 5-0 in their last league match, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. As tired legs could prove to be a big problem for Willem II players this time out, we are tempted to place our bets on the visiting side. In their last meeting at Koning Willem II Stadion Willem II defeated Twente 1-0, with Michal Sadilek scoring the only goal of the match. The 25-year-old midfielder, though, misses Saturday’s clash with injury.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
