Our prediction for this Championship match:
Sheffield Wednesday will look to bounce back from a massive 6-2 defeat to Watford when they welcome Norwich City to Hillsborough. However, the Owls’ defensive struggles have been a persistent issue this season, and with injuries to the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah, Michael Ihiekwe, and Ben Hamer, plus a doubt over Akin Famewo, a home win seems unlikely in this encounter.
Norwich City, meanwhile, are also seeking recovery after a 2-1 loss to Cardiff City. The Canaries have been defensively vulnerable as well, having conceded seven goals in their last three league games. Manager David Wagner will have to cope without Kenny McLean, who is suspended, while injuries to Nunez, Barnes, Slimane, Gunn, Gibbs, and Hernandez limit their options further. With both sides struggling at the back and desperate to get back on course, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score.
Highlighted Player (Josh Windass):
Born in Hull, England on January 9, 1994, John Windass is a professional footballer who plays for Wigan Athletic. Windass is a product of Huddersfield Town youth academy, but he did not play for the Terriers at senior level.
The 175-cm-tall midfielder began his senior career at Accrington Stanley and after scoring 22 goals in 77 appearances in the league for the club, he moved to Glasgow Rangers in the summer of 2016. Two years later Josh Windass joined Wigan Athletic and he has been playing for the DW Stadium outfit ever since. He scored his first Championship goal on September 18, 2018 in a 2-1 win over Hull City.
His main position is attacking midfield, but he is used as both central midfielder and second striker as well. It has to be noted that Josh is the son of former footballer Dean Windass, who played for the likes of Hull City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Bradford City during his professional career.
Highlighted Team (Norwich):
After spending only one season in the Premier League, Norwich City dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. Norwich City are located in Norwich, Norfolk and they welcome their rivals at Carrow Road.
The stadium was built and opened in 1935 and the capacity of the venues is 27,137 (all-seater). However the stadium’s record attendance is 43,984. The Canaries have won two League Cup trophies (1973, 1975) and their main rivals are Ipswich Town. The two teams have been facing each other in the East Anglian Derby since 1902.
The colour of Norwich City’s home kit is yellow and green and that is the main reason why they are known as the Canaries. The likes of Kevin Keeland, Ian Culverhouse, Steve Bruce, Duncan Forbes, Mark Bowen, Darren Huckerby, Ian Crook, Martin Peters, Darren Eadier, Chris Sutton and Iwan Roberts are notable footballers who played for the Carrow Road outfit in the past.
