Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Castellon play host to Mirandes at their Estadio Municipal de Castalia on day 15 of the new La Liga 2 campaign. Los Albinegros aim to move closer to the playoffs berth, but Saturday’s game will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side. Israel Suero is a major doubt after limping off with injury in a 2-2 draw with Cordoba, with Daijiro Chirino being ready to sneak into the starting XI.
Los Rojillos, on the other hand, aim to retain their spot in top six. Mirandes, though, have been struggling on the travels of late, losing to both Real Oviedo and Tenerife and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Castellon’s party at Estadio Municipal. A man to watch in the away team will be Jon Gorrotxategi, who scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Cadiz at the weekend.
Highlighted Team (Castellon):
CD Castellon is a Spanish club based in the Valencian Community. Valencia flag dominates the club’s crest, but their home colours are white with black stripes. Castellon footballers wear green jerseys and green shorts when playing on the travels.
The club have been having their ups and downs ever since it was founded on July 20, 1922, with the team finishing fifth in the Spanish elite division in the 1972/73 season. It has to be noted that Castellon have not played in La Liga since the 1990/91 campaign when they suffered relegation to Segunda Division. Nowadays, Castellon compete in the Spanish second tier, with the team welcoming their rivals at Nou Castalia stadium.
Legendary Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque played for the club in the 1970s. Castellon’s biggest success came in the 1972/73 season as they participated in the Copa del rey final. However, Athletic Bilbao proved to be a big catch for them in the title game.
