Our prediction for this Championship match:
Tuesday’s football game at MKM Stadium pits together Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday, the two bottom-table sides. The Tigers are desperate to escape the relegation zone and a win over Sheffield Wednesday will see them put an end to their three-game losing run in the Championship. Hull City’s injury list remains pretty long, including the likes of Alzate, Belloumi, Cartwright, Lo-Tutala, Mehlem, Millar, Rushworth, and Smith. Oscar Zambrano is sidelined following a doping scandal.
The Owls, meanwhile, are sitting in 15th place in the standings. Sheffield Wednesday are eager to move closer to the playoffs berth, but given their difficulties on the road, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. The likes of Chalobah, Famewo, Hamer, Kobacki, and Ihiekwe are sidelined with injuries for the visiting team, while defender Liam Palmer is pushing for a recall to the starting eleven.
Highlighted Player (Josh Windass):
Born in Hull, England on January 9, 1994, John Windass is a professional footballer who plays for Wigan Athletic. Windass is a product of Huddersfield Town youth academy, but he did not play for the Terriers at senior level.
The 175-cm-tall midfielder began his senior career at Accrington Stanley and after scoring 22 goals in 77 appearances in the league for the club, he moved to Glasgow Rangers in the summer of 2016. Two years later Josh Windass joined Wigan Athletic and he has been playing for the DW Stadium outfit ever since. He scored his first Championship goal on September 18, 2018 in a 2-1 win over Hull City.
His main position is attacking midfield, but he is used as both central midfielder and second striker as well. It has to be noted that Josh is the son of former footballer Dean Windass, who played for the likes of Hull City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Bradford City during his professional career.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
