Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Following a 2-0 win over Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga, Leipzig will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face Aston Villa in the Champions League round 6. The Red Bulls have been struggling in the 2024/2025 Champions League campaign, losing each of their five league games, but Tuesday’s clash could be the turning point for Marco Rose’s men. Castello Lukeba serves a one-game ban, while the likes of Elmas, Ouedraogo, Poulsen, Raum, Simons, and Bitshiabu remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The Villans, on the other hand, have a chance to climb to top eight in the standings. As both Aston Villa and Leipzig will go for a win in the Red Bull Arena clash, there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Pacey winger Leon Bailey has overcome his minor injury, but Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey remains in the treatment room.
Highlighted Player (Willi Orban):
Willi Orban was born on 3 November, 1992 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Orban plays as a centre back, but he can operate as a defensive midfielder as well. The 185-cm-tall footballer is a product of Kaiserslautern’s youth academy and he played 35 league games for the reserve team between 2011 and 2013.
Orban made his debut for the first team in 2011, against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The Kaiserslautern footballer made 68 league appearances for Kaiserslautern, scoring 7 goals for the German outfit between 2011 and 2015, but in May 2015 he signed a contract with Leipzig. Kaislerslautern fans were very angry with the defender when he decided to join die Bullen.
Willi Orban has two caps for Germany U21, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. He has a contract with Leipzig, which expires on 30 June, 2019. Willi Orban has a dual citizenship (Germany, Hungary).
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
