Our prediction for this Championship match:
Buoyed by a 3-0 win over Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers will be aiming to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Oxford United in the Championship round 20. The Hoops are after their fourth consecutive clean sheet and they are seen as favourites to beat the Yellows, who struggle on the travels. All Ilias Chair, Karamoko Dembele, Jake Clarke-Salter, Michael Frey, and Jack Colback are out of contention with injuries for the home team.
Oxford United, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form, with the team losing three of their last four league matches. As Des Buckingham’s troops have been struggling at the back of late, home win should definitely be considered. All Siriki Dembele, Joseph Bennett, and Louie Sibley are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team, while fit-again Kyle Edwards is pushing for a recall.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Archer):
Jordan Archer is an English goalkeeper who plays for Millwall in the Championship. Archer started his career in the youth team of Charlton Athletic and he moved to Tottenham Hotspur football academy in 2009. However, he did not see a first-team football at White Hart Lane as he was inmeditely sent on loan to Harrow Bourough (2011).
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Bishop’s Storford, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton he signed a loan deal with Millwall in 2015 and he was soon offered a permanent contract with the capital club. Jordan Archer made 39 appearances for the Lions in the 2016/2017 League One campaign and it has to be noted that he managed to keep 11 clean sheets n the process.
Millwall secured promotion to the Championship at the end of the season as they defeated Bradford City in the final of the League One play-offs. Jordan Archer was born in Walthamstow, England on April 12, 1993.
Highlighted Team (Oxford United):
Oxford United are one of the oldest clubs in the League One as they were founded back in 1893. However, Oxford United adopted their current name 67 years later and have been playing under it ever since.
Over the years the Yellows have built a great rivalry with Swindon Town and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two sides. Oxford United play home matches at Kassam Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 12,500. The stadium was built in 1997 and has been Oxford United’s home ground ever since. The Boys from Up the Hill are well known for their yellow and blue colours, but they play their away games in dark blue (with a little yellow) or black kits.
Oxford’s player with the most league appearances is John Shuker, playing 478 games for the club from 1962 to 1977. On the other hand, Jim Magilton is the club’s most capped player in internationals, playing 18 games for Northern Ireland.
