Our prediction for this Premier League match:
There will be fireworks when Chelsea and Fulham face each other on Boxing Day in a highly-anticipated local derby. The Blues aim to return to winning ways after dropping two points in a goalless draw with Everton and they are seen as hot favourites to beat the Cottagers in the London derby. Noni Madueke is pushing for a recall to the starting XI, while left-back Marc Cucurella is back from suspension.
Marco Silva’s men, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Southampton at the weekend. As Fulham failed to impress in the clash with the relegation strugglers, we are tempted to put our money on Chelsea, who aim to stay in the title race. In their last meeting at Stamford Bridge Chelsea defeated Fulham 1-0, with Cole Palmer scoring the only goal of the match. Midfielder Andreas Pereira is back from suspension, while all Reiss Nelson, Harrison Reed, and Kenny Tete remain on the sidelines with injuries for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Bernd Leno):
Bernd Leno is a German goalkeeper who plays for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. The 190-cm-tall shoot-stopper started his career at the youth team of SV Germania Bietigheim and he played for VfB Stuttgart during his youth career as well.
After making 56 appearances for Stuttgart II from 2009 to 2011, Bernd Leno started playing for the first-team in the 2011/2012 season. Over the years Leno has established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper at BayArena outfit and he plays for Germany national team as well. The Bayer Leverkusen man made his debut for Germany on May, 29, 2012 in a 3-1 loss to Slovakia.
Bernd Leno represented die Mannschaft at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and it is well known that the Germans won the tournament in Russia. Leno was born in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany on March 5, 1992 and it has to be noted that his contract with Bayer Leverkusen should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Chelsea):
Over the years Chelsea have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in the English Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo helped the team win their first ever Champions League trophy (2011/2012), but it has to be noted that they were more than fortunate to beat Bayern Munich in the title game.
Chelsea have been playing at Stamford Bridge since 1876 and they are a real force to be reckoned with at home. The Blues have won seven FA Cups, five League Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups and the UEFA Europa League. Rafael Benitez was in charge of the team that faced Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final, with Branislav Ivanovic scoring the winner for the Blues in the title clash.
After lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, the Blues largely struggled in the next campaign, which saw Jose Mourinho’s second spell with the club come to an end, and Antoine Conte went over to take the reigns for the 2016/2017 season.
