Our prediction for this Championship match:
Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland square off against each other at Ewood Park in what is expected to be a close Championship encounter. The Seasiders aim to recover from a 1-0 loss to Millwall and their fine home record is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the Boxing Day clash. Blackburn are eyeing their eighth home win of the process, but they will have to do it without Harry Pickering, who limped off with injury in the last league match.
The Black Cats, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Swansea City and Norwich City, but seeing that Blackburn are tough to beat at home, we are tempted to put our money on draw. The likes of Romaine Mundle, Alan Browne, Jenson Seelt, and Nial Huggins remain on the sidelines with injuries for the visiting team, while Daniel Ballard is a major doubt.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):

It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995).
