Our prediction for this DFB Pokal match:
A spot in the DFB Pokal last 16 will be at stake when Hannover and Werder Bremen face each other at HDI-Arena on Wednesday night. Hannover have been having their ups and downs in 2. Bundesliga, and as a result, they sit in the 12th position in the standings after 13 rounds. Die Roten are eager to return to the German top flight, but they have big ambitions for the German Cup as well.
Die Werderaner, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Mainz. The Bundesliga side have been playing some low-scoring matches of late, and seeing that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of Hannover’s previous four league fixtures, we are not expecting goals galore at HDI-Arena. In their last meeting in a competitive match Werder Bremen recorded a 1-0 win over Hannover.
