When Do We Release Europa League Predictions?

As is the case with the Champions League, the schedule of the Europa League means that our football predictions don’t come quite as frequently as you may initially think.

When the matchdays are actually ongoing the games will typically be played on a Thursday night, meaning that you can expect the predictions to go up early in the week. This gives you, the punter, time to digest the information and also see whether or not the trajectory of either team alters as we get closer and closer to the game day itself.

Europa League Predictions by FootballPredictions.com

The UEFA Europa League is considered to be the second primary European club football competition of its kind in the world, behind the Champions League. Many have described it as being nothing more than the ‘little brother’ of the Champions League, but in many ways, that feels a little bit disrespectful and doesn’t do justice to the kind of teams and games that we get to see compete in the Europa League on a year by year basis.

Sevilla holding the most titles

The current name for the Europa League was brought in ten years ago in 2009 when a rebranding took place, but prior to that, it was referred to as the UEFA Cup and has been in existence since 1971. Up to this point just 28 clubs have been able to win the famous trophy with 12 holding it more than once. Historically speaking, Sevilla is the most successful club in the history of the competition with five titles to their name.

A long road towards the final

The current format allows for a series of qualifying rounds before we get to the group stage, which is contested by 48 different teams. Once the knockout stage is reached, eight teams drop down from the Champions League into the Europa League after finishing third in their respective Champions League group. Then, from a Round of 32 onwards, we dwindle the clubs down until only one is left.

Europa League Tips, Predictions and Betting advice

When preparing yourself for Europa League predictions, you have to think a little bit differently to how you decide upon normal football predictions and football tips. By that, we mean you really need to analyse and do some investigating into who would want the win more.

Not as valuable for everyone

By that, we mean this: not all clubs are going to take the Europa League 100% seriously because it may not be their main priority. For example, if they are in a strong position in the league, they might not consider the Europa League to be as important – even though the winner of the competition winds up qualifying for the Champions League anyway.

Also, given the unknown nature of so many teams from small divisions across Europe, we’d suggest avoiding betting against them, even if they happen to be going up against some really good clubs. The reason for this is simple: you just don’t know how much of an impact the crowd will have on proceedings if you aren’t familiar with the division.

Our Team of Europa League Experts

The beautiful thing about our team of experts in the Europa League is that they stretch far and wide across the continent. They know their Europa League tips from their usual betting tips, and that’s through trial and error.

Our experts all have a vast amount of experience in predicting the Europa League, which is desperately needed, because it can get so unpredictable on any given week of fixtures.

A lot of our experts also keep a very close eye on the Champions League, as there’s always a possibility of teams they’re watching dropping down into the Europa League. As such, they’ll gain an advantage (of sorts) from being more knowledgeable on the subject matter.
