Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Saturday’s football match at Keepmoat Stadium pits together Doncaster Rovers and MK Dons, who face each other at the start of the new League One campaign. Bookies expect both teams to finish the season in the middle of the table, but, no doubt, both Doncaster and MK Dons will give 100% to book their place in the playoffs.
The Donny experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the EFL Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers (2-3), but there were some positivities in Darren Moore’s team in the Ewood Park showdown. MK Dons, on the other hand, suffered a loss to ten-man Coventry in their Carabao Cup opener, with Carlton Morris missing a penalty in the first half. Seeing that Doncaster have turned their Keepmoat Stadium into a real fortress, we predict that the hosts are going to kick off the new League One season with a win.
Highlighted Player (Reece James):
Reece James is a talented Chelsea defender who plays for Wigan Athletic on loan. Born in Redbridge, England on December 8, 1999, James started his youth career at Chelsea football academy at the age of 6. The talented teenager played for England U18 and U19 teams and he currently represents the U20 team on the international stage.
Reece James scored 3 goals in 45 appearances for Wigan in the 2018/2019 Championship campaign, but that did not help the Latics avoid relegation to the League One. His numbers from the 2018/2019 season are impressive as he completed 91 successful tackles, 54 blocks, 44 successful dribbles and 93 clearances.
James, on the other hand, has yet to find the net for the England U20 national team. His main position is right back, but he is capable of playing as both centre-back and defensive midfielder as well. Reece James turned professional in March 2017.
Highlighted Team (MK Dons):
Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes Dons are a League One club that welcome their rivals at Stadium MK. The venue was opened in 2007 and can hold up to 30,500 spectators. Milton Keynes Dons play their home games in white shirts and white shorts, whilst their away kit is red.
The Dons are one of the youngest clubs in England as they were founded in 2004, but they are well known for youth development. English attacker is the club’s all-time top goal-scorer, netting 62 goals in 165 appearances for MK Dons. Dele Alli, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, is the most famous footballer to have played for the Milton Keynes Dons, netting 18 goals in 62 appearances for the club in the league.
Speaking of notable coaches, it has to be noted that former Liverpool superstar Robbie Fowler and ex German international Dietmar Hamman were in charge of the club.
