Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Ipswich Town will be looking to put an end to their three-game losing run in all competitions when they take on Gillingham at their Portman Road on Boxing Day. The Tractor Boys are still seen as one of the main favourites for automatic promotion, but they will have to be at their sharpest in upcoming festive fixtures if they are to regain their spot in the top two.
The Gills, on the other hand, are stuck in the middle of the League One standings. Gillingham recorded only one win in the last ten away games in the league, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing hosts. In their last meeting at Portman Road (EFL Trophy), Ipswich Town recorded a routine 4-0 win over Gillingham, and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Teddy Bishop):

Having joined Ipswich as an eight-year-old, Teddy Bishop rose through the ranks at Portman Road to become one of the key players for the Tractor Boys. Bishop’s road to prominence hit a serious roadblock in his first year of the academy scholarship when he endured a serious back injury, but it was in 2014 that he went from strength to strength – proving his worth at the club and emerging as one of the most promising players in the squad.
The total of 36 appearances in his debut season with the first team were more than enough to make an impression on the fans and the club hierarchy which offered him a new long-term deal.
This deep-lying midfielder in characterized by impressive passing accuracy, vision and great reading of the play. Bishop is an asset defensively as well, but he is most comfortable sitting just above the back line, spraying balls around. As a two-footed midfielder, Teddy Bishop is regularly being watched by a number of Premier League biggest clubs.
Highlighted Team (Gillingham):

Founded back in 1893, Gillingham FC are an English club that compete in the League One. The Gills are well known for their blue shirts with black stripes, but they wear white shirts with a little yellow and blue, and yellow shirts when playing on the travels.
Priestfield Stadium is the club’s home ground, with the venue holding up to 11,582 spectators. Gillingham City have been playing at the stadium since the club’s foundation. Speaking of the club’s main rivals, over the years the Gills have built up a rivalry to Swindon Town. However, it has to be noted that Swindon fans do not consider Gillingham their biggest rivals.
Former goalkeeper Roy Hillyard is the Gillingham City player with the most appearances. The English shot-stopper played for Gillingham City from 1974 to 1991, making 655 appearances for the club. Brian Yeo is the team’s all-time top scorer, netting 149 goals in 387 appearances for the club from 1963 to 1975.
